AIA Denver 2008 Design Awards Gala CelebrationJoin AIA Denver for an evening of socializing, cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, live music, dessert and a celebration of the Denver design community. The Congress for the New Urbanism Call for SubmittalsThe Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU) is preparing a regional projects book to illustrate new urbanism in Colorado. Individuals and firms are invited to submit projects that express the Charter Principles of New Urbanism. Nominations of projects also are acceptable. The submittal deadline is 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 22, please e-mail submittals to cheney@vmwp.com. Click here to download the submittal requirements. CNU will return to Denver on June 11-14, 2009, the last time the Denver region hosted the CNU was in 1998. Since then, the region has seen numerous new urbanist developments shaped by the CNU charter. AIA Colorado Legislative AlertAIA Colorado is excited to announce the signature by Gov. Bill Ritter of Senate Bill 08-029, “Concerning a Requirement That an Architect Obtain Continuing Education Prior to the Renewal of the License to Practice Architecture in Colorado, and Making an Appropriation in Connection Therewith.” This act will require that architects demonstrate completion of continuing education (CE) as a condition for renewal of a license to practice architecture in the state of Colorado.
