Day at the Capitol

Save to my calendarAIA Colorado will be hosting a “Day at the Capitol” event surrounding HB-10-1148, which will be introduced in the House Business Affairs & Labor Committee meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 10. The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. This event is free to all AIA Colorado members, but RSVP’s are required. Attending the event is a great way to learn about issues of importance to the architecture profession and show your support for the industry. The schedule is as follows:
8:30 a.m. -Meet at the State Capitol (The location will be announced shortly.).
-Introductions and briefing on the day.
-Review of HB-10-1148 regarding continuing competency for architects.
-Expectations for committee hearing.
9:15 a.m. - Walk to committee hearing (House Business Affairs and Labor Committee).
10:15 a.m. - Architect-led tours of the State Capitol.
-Option to attend additional legislative committee meetings.
11:30 a.m. - Lunch at Tryba Architects (1620 Logan Street, Denver, 80202). Lunch will be provided by AIA Colorado.
-Selected legislative leaders will present during the lunch hour.
-Additional updates will be given on the 2010 legislative session and issues of importance to architects.
