The AIA Colorado West 2010 Design Awards Gala will be held on Friday, Aug. 27, at 6 p.m., at the Vilar Performing Arts Center (68 Avondale Lane, Beaver Creek, Colo. 81620). To register for the gala, click here.
The AIA Colorado West 2010 Design Award winners will be presented by Jury Chair Stephen Dynia, AIA, of Stephen Dynia Architects, PC (Jackson, Wyo.). Lodging is available at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek in Beaver Creek, Colo. A special room rate of $155 a night has been reserved for AIA Colorado West guests. In addition to the gala, AIA Colorado West invites all of its members to attend a special continuing education program on sustainable design. This program will take place on Friday, Aug. 27, from 1 - 4:30 p.m., at the Avon Public Library (200 Benchmark Rd., Avon, Colo. 81657 ), preceding the gala. Attendees will have the opportunity to attend presentations on the International Green Construction Code, a Life Cycle Assessment/Market Transformation to Sustainability smart certification on sustainable material and on net zero energy building.
