Building Enclosure Council - Use of Snow Retention Devices: Science, or Science Fiction

Join the AIA Colorado Building Enclosure Council (BEC) for a presentation entitled Use of Snow Retention Devices: Science, or Science Fiction? by Rob M. Haddock of The Metal Roof Advisory Group.

Attendees can earn 1.0 AIA HSW continuing education learning unit (LU). Under the state of Colorado’s rules for continuing education for state licensure renewal, this program should meet the requirements for 1.0 HSW CEH.

Attendees will learn a sensible approach to understanding how snow acts on roof systems and the presenter will debunk misconceptions and common mistakes made during the design of snow retention. This program is free for all AIA Colorado members. Please BYO lunch.

Registration is required. Register by Tuesday, Jan. 6 at 4 p.m.

SMPS SoCo Luncheon: Colorado Springs Downtown & Urban Development Lunch to Benefit Urban Peak

Speakers from the Downtown Partnership in Colorado Springs will discuss urban development.

10% of luncheon registration will benefit Urban Peak, a non-profit serving youth experiencing homelessness in the Denver metropolitan area and Colorado Springs (http://www.urbanpeak.org/). Luncheon attendees are encouraged to bring professional clothing items or professional development reading materials to donate to Urban Peak. These donations help Urban Peak youth who are looking for jobs, or who are exploring career opportunities.

The luncheon will also feature music from members of The Colorado Springs Conservatory.
