AIA Denver Housing Committee Meeting
Thursday, December 18, 2014 12:00:00 PM
Join the AIA Denver Housing Committee for a planning meeting to create the committee’s 2015 agenda on Thursday, Dec. 18, from noon to 1:30 p.m. Complimentary lunch will be provided for those who attend. RSVP instructions are below.

Join the discussion for the creation of a one-year strategy to forge a constructive response to the leading challenges raised by Confluence’s speakers:
• Affordability - housing costs are rising, incomes aren’t; large numbers are left behind;
Is there a role for architects as interdisciplinary problem-solvers in crafting inclusive housing solutions, preservation, revitalization and infrastructure optimization?
• Accessibility - housing is built where land/finances dictate;
Can architects provide leadership to assure that community-building, proximity to jobs, services and transportation, become prime determinants for housing development?
• Sustainability - short-term ‘bottom-line’ project accounting fails to factor energy conservation, neighborhood and community values;
What can architects do to expand public awareness of life-cycle values, and for communities embodying a continuum of social, economic and cultural diversity?
• Responsibility - all housing is a product of public/private collaboration;
How can architects advocate for a broader understanding of the need for more cooperation and collaboration, and greater commitment to the whole community?

Be part of the planning as we forge a program that addresses your personal and professional goals, while building connections and relationships with others with concurring interests. This is your committee. Please join us.

To attend: Please register by 4 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 15.
