Denver, Colo. (August 21, 2017) – The American Institute of Architects (AIA), Colorado recognized 28 projects for design excellence during the 2017 AIA Colorado Awards Gala in Denver, Colo. on Friday, Aug. 18, 2017. Judged by architects from across the nation, the winning projects were recognized for build, materials, aesthetics, space and design.
“The diverse and beautiful work of all of the firms who put their hearts and souls into creating magnificent works of architecture are truly spectacular to see. We are honored to recognize these Colorado architecture firms for exemplifying the highest standards of professionalism, integrity and design,” said Cathy Rosset, Executive Vice President/CEO of AIA Colorado.
The 2017 AIA Colorado Design Awards included recognition of projects designed by firms in AIA Colorado South, AIA Colorado North, AIA Colorado West and AIA Denver. New this year, AIA Colorado presented ‘Best of State’ awards to projects that rose to the top of their local sections either this year or in the years prior. The 2017 AIA Colorado Design Awards Jury was comprised of four individuals: Manoj Dalaya, AIA of KGD Architecture (2017 Jury Chair), J. Paul Lewis, AIA of WKL Architecture (2017 Jury Co-Chair), Elizabeth Reader, FAIA of Reader & Swartz Architects, P.C., and Kevin Sneed, FAIA of OTJ Architects.
