Join AIA Colorado and IIDA Rocky Mountain Chapter for a member’s only design tour, exploring the design and construction process for Denver’s new award-winning building repositioning in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Downtown Denver. 1580 Logan Street, now formally named “The Amp,” highlights the unique identities of Denver’s Uptown neighborhood in a building that features vibrant, hospitality-focused amenities. Surrounded by iconic music venues, eccentric local restaurants, and historic East Colfax, The Amp plays to the community’s heritage and design language, while adding a modern twist. Gensler’s scope of work for this repositioning and renovation includes interior design and branding across the lobby, elevator lobby, corridors, restrooms, exterior, and entry renovations.

Tour Summary:
During this tour, the design team will lead all participants through the full scope of the design process starting with the exterior and curbside experience. Participants will gain detailed insight into the building department review process & understanding zoning requirements for the building. Stepping into the interior, the team will lead everyone through major design decisions, like the relocation of the entry, flow and access of amenity spaces, and rework of the core + shell elements including the building’s systems. Finally, participants will get to see one of the new spec suites that were planned for prospective tenants, along with other public amenities along the higher levels within the building.
Both sustainability and astute planning of the tenant floors were key focuses of the design. Participants will learn about methods the team deployed to increase energy efficiency for the building & addressing creative challenges for the small building floorplates.

Parking/Arrival: The Amp is providing parking via the Logan Street Parking Garage Entrance for this event. The 16th Street Entrance will be limited to tenants only, but event attendees can park on the Logan Street side free of charge, please have your ticket handy! Street parking is also available nearby.
Please note: Registration is required. This is a members-only event. AIA or IIDA membership is required. All member numbers will be verified upon registration. Any non-member tickets will be cancelled.
