Project Manager/Architect, Project Coordinator (313 views)

dcb Construction Company, Inc. is a fully integrated design-build firm that has been serving the Rocky Mountain Region for almost 60 years.  The firm is conveniently located just north of downtown Denver.  dcb believes in the idea that the interest of the Client is best served when the designer and contractor work together under a single, accountable source of responsibility.

We are currently in search for a Project Architect/Manager with 8 to 10 years of experience and a Project Coordinator/Intern with 3 to 7 years of experience to join our design department.  Our ideal candidates will have a strong desire to work in a collaborative design-build environment alongside in-house cost estimators and construction professionals.  Experience in a diverse range of project types is ideal, including commercial, mixed use, multi-family, and industrial type projects.

We are looking for exceptional talents that are self-motivated and genuinely interested in the design-build delivery process.

Project Manager/Architect Attributes and Requirements:

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in architecture required.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of Experience.
  • Architect license in Colorado desired, or in process of taking exams.
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to manage the Client and their expectations.
  • The ability to lead project teams including the management of in-house design staff and external consultants.
  • Strong time management and scheduling abilities.
  • Strong design abilities with a problem-solving mentality.
  • Sensibility to design with a budget in mind.
  • Experience in all project phases from concept through construction administration and client turnover.
  • Experience site planning at any scale and a firm understanding of the site entitlement processes is a plus.
  • Experience attending and/or presenting projects in public forums such as planning commission or city council is a plus.
  • Firm understanding of structural and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Expertise in code research, including an understanding of energy codes and building envelope science.
  • Strong time management and scheduling abilities.
  • Software proficiency:
    • Revit (minimum 3 years, with extensive modeling experience)
    • Microsoft Office Suite, including Project
    • Adobe Create Suite (Photoshop & InDesign)
    • Sketchup
    • AutoCAD

Project Coordinator Attributes and Requirements:

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in architecture required.
  • Minimum 3-7 years of Experience.
  • Interested in licensure, in the process of taking exams a plus.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong design abilities with a problem-solving mentality.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task effectively and accurately.
  • Lead the efforts in the development of the project documents including facilitating coordination of the project consultant team documents.
  • Strong time management and scheduling abilities.
  • Sensibility to design with a budget in mind.
  • Software proficiency:
    • Revit (minimum 3 years, with extensive modeling experience)
    • Microsoft Office Suite, including Project
    • Adobe Create Suite (Photoshop & InDesign)
    • Sketchup
