JUST: Practice + Design Conference 2020
PRACTICE + DESIGN CONFERENCE | OCT. 14-16
The annual Practice + Design Conference—with the theme of JUST—is going virtual this year, with no shortage of dynamic content to help you better design and lead your firm.
The conference takes place October 14-16, and we’re pleased to announce Tod Williams and Billie Tsien as one of several keynote speakers spanning three days. See the lineup and register now.
What does “just” mean through the lens of architecture?
- based on or behaving according to what is morally right and fair.
- very recently, or in the immediate past.
How does this word impact the way we design? The way we practice? The way we view the role of architects in the communities around us? Join us as we explore this theme and learn how to incorporate it into our firms at the Practice + Design Conference this fall, October 14-16.
INTRODUCING KEYNOTE SPEAKERS:
TOD WILLIAMS + BILLIE TSIEN
Tod Williams and Billie Tsien have been working together since 1977 and founded their New York architecture practice in 1986. The studio focuses on work for institutions such as schools, museums, and not-for-profits. Each project is carefully designed from the inside out in ways that speak to both efficiency and the spirit. A sense of rootedness, light, texture, detail, and most of all, experience, are at the heart of what they design. Notable projects include The Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia, Asia Society Hong Kong Center, and the Lefrak Center at Lakeside in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. Their current work includes the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago, the renovation of David Geffen Hall in New York City, and the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City, currently in construction.
