On Wednesday, March 16, 2016 Governor John Hickenlooper signed House Bill 16-1076, our Retired Architect Bill, into law. HB16-1076, which will go into effect on August 10, 2016, offers a duly licensed Colorado architect, who is at least 65 years old and retired from the practice of architecture, the opportunity to be reclassified as a Retired Architect and the right to use the title “Retired Architect”. We look forward to working with DORA in the coming months to ensure that the bill is properly implemented.
Many thanks to each of you who contacted your representative and senator to ask for their support. We could not have done it without your help. A special thanks to Mike Wisneski, AIA and Kevin Eronimous, AIA, who testified in support of HB 1076, as well as our Government Affairs Committee members who assisted in the development of the final bill.
