Attend this Local Connect and participate in an around-the-horn style presentation of school projects which were successful in designing great small group spaces. The group will then work together to synthesize the presentation and discuss the common elements of great small group spaces.

You’ll leave with a better understanding of the constraints and opportunities available when incorporating the common-but-broad-request for incorporating small group spaces into the design of schools.

This virtual reality (VR) presentation introduces how your architectural vision can be viewed inside an IMAX Digital Dome Theater as a “Community Virtual Reality Experience.”  Imagine viewing your entire presentation with your clients and design team, and discussing your designs together as a large group in a comfortable theater environment.

Come and experience the new age of presenting architectural designs to the general audience in this communal immersive presentation to help clients visualize your ideas. We will be able to view, as a group, a live model in the VR environment controlled by an audience member.

The Business of Architecture is designed to provide architects with essential career tools for managing a prosperous practice. Whether you’re looking to take on more responsibility within your current firm, or interested in starting your own practice, this series will equip you with the necessary skills to set yourself apart.

The series (six sessions total) covers all facets of firm management and development. Each session in the series builds on the last and will culminate with the opportunity for you to create a business and/or personal plan that you can use going forward. For this reason, participation in the entire series is encouraged, however registration for individual sessions is an option.

Each half-day session will include highly interactive presentations and panel discussions, as well as group and individual work assignments. Each session will provide four continuing education credits (AIA LU’s).

Join us on September 13 for an evening of networking with peers and celebrating the top Colorado architects, projects and achievements of 2019!

During the celebration, we will announce the recipients of both the 2019 AIA Colorado Design and Honor Awards.

Led by head design awards juror, Jennifer Yoos, FAIA of VJAA in Minneapolis, learn more about the 2019 jury’s process and why each of the recipients stood out among the more-than-140 submissions.

Based on member feedback, this year’s celebration will facilitate connecting with colleagues over cocktails and food stations, rather than a formal seated dinner. We will then move into an auditorium-style presentation, followed by dessert.
