Custom Residential Architects Network

Established in 2025, The Colorado CRAN (Custom Residential Architects Network) Knowledge Community aims to foster a vibrant community dedicated to custom home design. This initiative will provide a platform for exchanging information, sharing inspiration, and enhancing members’ ability to adapt to, and influence, an ever-evolving regulatory and design landscape.

CRAN Objectives

  • Build a collaborative network that connects professionals across the architecture industry – from large firms to individual practitioners – to share resources and provide support in adapting to an evolving regulatory and design landscape
  • Develop an open-source knowledge base to facilitate information sharing and innovation
  • Influence policy change at both local and state levels to drive meaningful change
  • Advance and share sustainability practices to support firms in meeting new benchmarks in environmental responsibility and building performance in the custom residential market
  • Demonstrate the value of custom residential work within the greater housing conversation for it’s work in research and development of innovative construction techniques and demonstrate that custom residential is central to AIA national’s goal to inspire an appreciation for design excellence across the general public.
