Keynote: Robert Ivy, FAIA

This new book, Out There, New Architecture Across America, demonstrates a commitment to architecture’s civic, social, and environmental responsibilities across America, including the three firms included from Colorado. Many prioritize sustainability, adaptive reuse, housing, and social justice. Robert Ivy, co-author, will describe his personal overview of the state of contemporary practice in conversation with Colorado architects as seen through this survey of the practice outside major metropolitan areas. 

Robert Ivy, FAIA, has served as leader in two critical positions in architecture, each for over a decade—as Editor-in-Chief of Architectural Record and as Chief Executive Officer of the American Institute of Architects. An architect, author/editor, association leader, and educator, his focus has been to broaden the knowledge and appreciation of architects and architecture. His books include the award-winning Fay Jones, Chateau La Coste: Art and Architecture in Provence, and most recently, Out There: New Architecture across America.
