The American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), headquartered in Chicago, is a non-partisan, not-for-profit technical institute and trade association established in 1921 to serve the structural steel design community and construction industry in the United States. AISC’s mission is to make structural steel the material of choice by being the leader in structural-steel-related technical and market-building activities, including specification and code development, research, education, technical assistance, quality certification, standardization, market development, and advocacy. AISC has a long tradition of service to the steel construction industry providing timely and reliable information.

We spark curiosity to inspire great designers - The Architecture Center

The Architecture Center, an initiative of AISC, was created for architects by architects. It provides resources to help architects save time and money, reduce risk, and achieve their project goals.

The American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) is a not-for-profit technical institute for structural steel. It collaborates with the AEC community to establish safe and efficient steel specifications and codes, while also fostering innovation.

The Architecture Center, an initiative of AISC, was created for architects by architects. It provides resources to help architects save time and money, reduce risk, and achieve their project goals.

These resources include design guidance for steel,  free project support, a monthly newsletter featuring case studies and FAQs, and opportunities for hands-on learning, such as steel mill tours, fabricator shop tours, and job site visits.

Additionally, AISC publishes Modern Steel Construction, a monthly magazine, that brings its readership in-depth information with the latest and most advanced uses of structural steel in buildings.
