Colorado Architects and Firms Receive Top Honors from AIA Colorado and AIA Western Mountain Region

American Institute of Architects (AIA), Colorado announced the 2015 AIA Colorado Honor Award winners during the 2015 AIA Colorado & Local Section Design Awards Gala in Keystone, Colo. on Oct. 15, 2015. The AIA Colorado Honor Awards recognizes firms and individuals who are setting examples in both design and leadership in our state. Four individuals and three architecture firms comprised this year’s class of Honor Award winners.

 

“The Honor Awards are a representation of the highest standards of professionalism, integrity and expertise in our industry. Each of this year’s winners is not only dedicated to achieving quality design of the built environment, but to elevating the profession of architecture for generations to come,” said Cathy Rosset, Executive Vice President/CEO of AIA Colorado.

  • Firm of the Year, CCY Architects in Basalt, Colo.
  • Architect of the Year, Tania Salgado, AIA, with Handprint Architecture in Denver, Colo.
  • Young Firm of the Year, LIVstudio in Denver, Colo.
  • Young Architect of the Year, Adam Harding, AIA, with Roth Sheppard Architects in Denver, Colo.
  • Innovative Practices Award, Tomecek Studio Architecture in Denver, Colo.
  • Leadership Award, Cynthia Fishman, AIA, with KTGY Group in Denver, Colo.
  • Leadership Award, Cara Hlad, AIA, with Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc. in Littleton, Colo.

AIA Western Mountain Region comprised of AIA members in Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming, bestowed two architects and one architecture firm with the association’s highest honors at the AIA Western Mountain Region Awards Gala on Oct. 17, 2015.

 

Congratulations to the 2015 AIA Western Mountain Region Honor Awards Winners:

  • Silver Medal (highest honor), Tania Salgado, AIA, with Handprint Architecture in Denver, Colo.
  • Young Architect of the Year, Adam Harding, AIA, with Roth Sheppard Architects in Denver, Colo.
  • Twenty Five Year Award, Fentress Architects in Denver, Colo. for Jefferson County Human Services Building.

The 2015 AIA Colorado Honor Awards Jury was comprised of three individuals representing the north, south and central areas of the state: Jury Chair Scott Rodwin, AIA, of Rodwin Architecture in Boulder, CO, Michael Brendle, FAIA, of B3 Michael Brendle Architects in Denver, CO, and Gregory Friesen, FAIA, of CSNA Architects in Colorado Springs, CO. The 2015 AIA Western Region Honor Awards Jury was comprised of Jury Chair Chris Larsen, AIA, of PGAL in Las Vegas, NV, John Carney, FAIA, of Carney Logan Burke Architects in Jackson, WY, and Robin Shambach, AIA, of BWS Architects in Tuscon, AZ.
