About the.PAVILION transforms a steep, underused backyard into a place for recreation and connection to the landscape. Set below the existing home, its carefully positioned form preserves mountain views, screens neighboring properties, and protects a mature cottonwood tree. A diagonal path and low retaining walls manage the hillside and lead to a plunge pool nestled into the slope. Slender steel columns and a restrained, mid-century-inspired design create an elegant outdoor room that complements the original residence.
